Private or Private Group English & Japanese Lessons

All of our English tutors are native English teachers, and of all our Japanese instructors are native Japanese teachers. And all of our teachers have professional training and are very experienced.

Depending on your specific learning requirements, a private (1-1) or private group (1-2 or 1-3) class may be more appropriate. These requirements may include:

alternate text
  • a very tight learning schedule (i.e., you have one or two months before moving overseas)
  • very targeted learning requirements (i.e., you have an upcoming exam or job interview)
  • a language ability that doesn't fit regular classes (i.e., you have excellent reading comprehension but very poor oral skills)

In these and other cases, a private class will be more cost-effective, even though it is more expensive per class, because you will receive very targeted instruction, individual attention, and much faster results.

My teacher at Impact was very nice. He always encouraged me to find out the mistakes/problems by myself, and this really helped me to improve my English. He also tried to teach me as much as he could during the lesson, so our class always ran overtime! Ms. T. Chan, Health Care Marketing

Lesson Location

Private instruction is generally at our center in Mongkok. In some cases, we may do off-site lessons at a student's office or home depending on time, location, and tutor availability.

In case of illness, you can reschedule the same day if 1) you do so by BOTH calling and e-mailing us no less than 2 hours before class start or no later than 10 AM, whichever is later, AND 2) you bring in a dated and signed doctor's note no later than the next scheduled class day. Cancellations that don't meet the above requirements will result in forfeiting the class.

Slightly Larger Groups (>5 students)

For larger group private instruction (corporate customers, school programs, etc), contact us with your details for a quote.

Large group instruction usually requires a minimum time commitment of 10 hours.

The special thing of this class is the attitude. The teachers are very kind and they love chatting with you, compared to other schools which are honestly not like that. I think you will feel comfortable studying here. W.Y. Lam, School Student

Each lesson lasts for 55 minutes with the last 5 minutes for wrapping up and exiting the classroom. Classes start on time, so students should try to arrive at least 5 minutes early.

Fees are paid in advance. Lessons that fall on a public holiday can be rescheduled to an alternate day or the following week.

Other English Courses

We can also help you if you want to prepare for IELTS or the LPAT. If you have a job interview coming up, you may want to look at our job interview preparation section. If you just want to work on improving general conversation skills - a must for career development! - then join one of our fun small group discussion classes.

Other Japanese Courses

With only 5 students per class, our regular Japanese language classes are a really good deal and can help you see solid improvement in as little as 8 weeks! We can also help you if you want to prepare for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) though our regular courses generally also do that.

Finally, if you are not Chinese (or even if you are) and wish to study without learning Kanji (i.e., Chinese characters, though you'll still have to learn kana! That's pretty easy though as it's basically a phonetic alphabet), we still have classes for you. Just e-mail us or call us at 3188-0220 and we'll get you set up.
